Summary

As a web developer, I redesigned and rebuilt a church website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. One of the key features I added was a section for social media links, allowing the church to easily connect with their congregation on various platforms. In addition, I integrated a Mailchimp sign-up form to the website, making it simple for visitors to subscribe to the church's newsletter. Through my work, I helped to enhance the church's online presence and improve their ability to engage with their community.

About Me

Hi, I am Marquise Dawkins — a Full Stack Developer who loves turning ideas into practical, clean, and creative web applications. With experience across both front-end and back-end technologies, I have built projects using React.js, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Node.js, and Spring Boot, and I thrive on learning new tools and frameworks to level up my skills.

I recently completed the Dev10 bootcamp, where I sharpened my software engineering skills with an in-depth focus on Java, object-oriented programming, SQL, database design, and Spring Boot. I also gained hands-on experience working with REST APIs, unit testing, and building scalable full-stack applications.

Before diving full-time into development, I worked at Hartford Healthcare, where I not only handled complex payment processes but also created training documentation that improved team workflows. I also rebuilt and maintained the website for North United Methodist Church, enhancing both user experience and engagement through email campaigns and responsive design.

I am known for learning fast, collaborating well with others, and always bringing curiosity and creativity to my work. I am excited to join a team where I can continue growing and help build impactful digital experiences. Thanks for stopping by my site—feel free to explore my projects, and let's connect!

As an individual with a diverse set of interests, I prioritize engaging in a range of activities outside of coding to maintain a healthy work-life balance. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with friends, honing my skills on the basketball court, and exploring the great outdoors through activities such as hiking. Additionally, I have a passion for culinary arts and love to experiment with cooking and trying out new recipes. Finally, I have a creative side that is satisfied through making music. By pursuing a variety of hobbies, I believe I am able to bring a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to my work as a coder, making me a well-rounded and versatile professional.
